2022 General Operating Support Grants are open
Creative Flagstaff’s flagship grant program is now open for application. This grant program supports nonprofits and fiscally sponsored groups who have missions dedicated to producing, presenting, teaching, or serving the arts; cultural equity, preservation, or awareness; and/or presenting science programming to the public. Last year, $305,000 was awarded to 31 Flagstaff nonprofits.
Grants are for operating expenses beginning July 1, 2022. Applications are due Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Applicants are expected to have a representative attend at least one of three mandatory information sessions:
- Thursday, February 10 at 5:30pm (click here to register)
- Tuesday, February 15 at 5:30pm (click here to register)
- Wednesday, March 9 at 5:30pm (click here to register)
There are several important changes pertaining to this application cycle:
- Simplified application form with several similar or common questions with Arizona Commission on the Arts new Creative Capacity Grant program.
- Updated grant criteria.
- Most recurring applicants will be eligible for a 2-year funding period.
- Change of grant level eligibility based on average expenses rather than revenue.
- Removal of the requirement for organizations to estimate fiscal year numbers or create draft CDP reports if there most recent fiscal year financial statements are finalized, submitted to the IRS, or audited. (This primarily affects applicants that have fiscal years ending in December.)
- A pilot program allowing a video alternative to written narrative questions for Level 1 applicants.
These important changes will be covered in the mandatory information sessions. For more information and grant guidelines please click here.
This program is made possible due to Creative Flagstaff’s partnership with the City of Flagstaff and BBB tax revenues.
