FY21 Budget

Our current budget reflects $1,047,650 in revenues and expenses including $180,000 in-kind lease provided by Coconino County for Coconino Center for the Arts.

Revenue

Expenses

Creative Flagstaff looks forward to the return of regular in-person programming. With the guidance of our strategic plan, future budgets post pandemic will represent diversified revenue as the organization grows to support new programs and initiatives.

Due to pandemic-driven uncertainty, the Creative Flagstaff board of directors adopted quarterly budgets for its current fiscal year which ends June 30, 2021. The current budget represents all four quarters and was adopted on March 24, 2021.

The budget reflects significant declines in program revenue, corporate sponsorship, and earned revenues such as facility rentals which are offset by federal stimulus and expense reduction. Early in the pandemic, FTE was reduced by .75. Other staff normally focused on programming at Coconino Center for the Arts were assigned to other projects during the facility’s closure.

Independent Audits

Beginning in 2017, a financial policy was adopted calling for Creative Flagstaff to be audited by an independent auditor at least every three years. The following audits are available for public inspection.

Flagstaff Arts Council is doing business as Creative Flagstaff. All financial documents are inclusive of all departments including Coconino Center for the Arts and ArtWalk FLG. Flagstaff Arts Council DBA Creative Flagstaff does not presently have ownership of any other corporations.

Please note, audits reflect $180,000 in annual in-kind facility lease expense. Matching in-kind revenue is accrued at the beginning of the lease period causing subsequent lease years to show a loss. For example, excluding the in-kind lease expense in FY20 would show modest positive retained earnings.

Policy Documents

Our bylaws and the following policies guide our financial stewardship including the use of BBB tax-funded grants and our governance.
