This program is made possible by a Route 66 grant from the Arizona Community Foundation. Each winning organization will be awarded $1,500 to complete programing around Flagstaff’s historic downtown during First Friday ArtWalk’s in September, October, and November 2022. Programing will center in Heritage Square and branch out to other spaces around downtown.

Each winning entry will provide programming with a focus on the intersection of arts and ideas, including social issues pertinent to Flagstaff. September kicks off with Colorado River Days, who will bring cultural celebration of the tribes of the Colorado River to Heritage Square. In October, Interference Series will perform music inspired by downtown locations. Completing the series in November, Threaded Together will invite the public to create a community quilt to reflect on the fires, floods, and our resulting collective grief.
