Creative Flagstaff is proud to announce the 2026 Flagstaff First Friday ArtWalk Season. Flagstaff’s First Friday ArtWalk is a monthly celebration of creativity that brings downtown to life on the first Friday of every month. Artist studios, galleries, shops, restaurants, and local venues open their doors in the evening, showcasing a diverse mix of art—from painting and photography to ceramics, jewelry, and live performance. Visitors can stroll between locations, meet artists, enjoy live music, and experience the vibrant energy of Flagstaff’s arts community. Whether you’re a dedicated collector or just looking for a lively night out, First Friday offers a welcoming, walkable way to connect with local culture and creativity.

Meadowlark Art Studio: Please join us at Meadowlark Art Studio for the opening of “Finding Peace in Times of Conflict,” an exhibit of abstract paintings by Erika Tsouras.This collection of colorful abstract paintings on wood grapples with our challenging world. The pieces express raw emotion, seek to touch connection and healing, and embody balance and calm. They are meant to provide an experience of catharsis and a pathway to peace for the viewer. Pop-up will be located at 115 E Birch Ave.

Flagstaff STEM City: View project “STEAM Confluence” showcasing original artwork created through collaboration between artists and STEM professionals, with each piece inspired by real science, technology, engineering, and math happening in our community. Pop-up will be located at 604 N. Beaver St. from 5-8 pm!

Montgomery & Associates: hosting a gallery for the Coconino Plateau Watershed Partnership’s 4th Grade Water Ethics Contest. Come see artwork and essays from previous year’s submissions and learn more about this year’s contest. Pop-up will be located at 201 E Birch Ave #5.

Open Doors: Art in Action
423 N. Beaver St.

Open Doors: Art in Action is a non-profit art gallery, located in the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Since 2018, the gallery has had thirty-one exhibits to raise awareness of social, environmental, and justice issues in our community. October 2nd is the Opening Reception for Mental Health: Colors of Well Being. This exhibit is about Mental illness and how it affects millions of people lives each day. This exhibit brings those inner landscapes into view through art that expresses struggle, resilience, isolation, and hope. There will be refreshments starting at 6 pm and music by David Seaton from 6-7 pm. At 7 pm, the featured speaker is Art Therapist, Emily Wilson, Illumination Art Therapy.

Gwendolyn Waring Arts

Gwendolyn Waring is a northern Arizona landscape painter inspired by the Colorado Plateau. Working primarily in oils, her art reflects the beauty and ecology of the Southwest. Visit her studio near the hospital to see paintings surrounded by a native garden, or view more at WaringArts.com.

Art 35 Degress North is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Northern Arizona. Bringing the arts together, supporting fine arts, and displaying a variety of artists peices.

October Features: Patricia Kearney has glass pendants, plus glass panels and suncatchers.  Michael Barbaric has sculptures created from found objects.  Frederica Hall, Bill Anderson, and Lisa Pearce have new paintings.  And Bryan Cooperrider still has his Bottle People.

 

Bee Balm Studio

Located in Downtown Flagstaff’s Historic Ice House, Bee Balm Studio is a creative space for making, learning, and connecting. Through classes and workshops rooted in the visual arts and other creative practices, they support artists of all levels in developing skills and exploring new forms of expression.

Arizona Handmade Gallery / Fire on the Mountain

Artists and owners George Averbeck and Holly Gramm are both long time Flagstaff residents. Arizona Handmade Gallery is linked with Fire on the Mountain glass studio, creating both a showroom for George’s blown glass creations, as well as an outlet for over 60 Arizona artists to display and sell their handmade works.

Eat some FREE Timberline Ice Cream, then ride to Heritage Square at 5pm for Car-Free First Friday ArtWalk.

⁠Be prepared with layers, lights, and helmets, and bring a friend for some two-wheeled fun. This is a party-pace, family-friendly, ride-at-your-own-risk community ride, and we hope to see you there!
